The tough part – Mountain run in Leogang

On Saturday afternoon, Hoffenheim endured the toughest part of their preseason training so far: A seven kilometre, continuous mountain run. The likes of Andreas Beck and Sejad Salihovic managed the 750 meters above sea level, an average increase of more than 10%.

There were a few clouds in the sky at the start, sparing the players of higher temperatures, but as the run went on, it got warmer. Not only did the temperature increase, but so did the incline. It really was a test for the Hoffenheim players. Pictures definitely say more than words in these situations though (see the picture gallery below).

The quickest time of the day went to defender Stefan Thesker, clocking in at 37 minutes and 20 seconds. On the fictitious podium, Sebastian Rudy was second and Vincenzo Grifo was third.

Shortly after 17:00 CET, the players set off in 30-second gaps. Soon enough, groups were formed, as the team followed the old saying: “A pain shared is a pain halved.”
