Markus Gisdol: "We will give 110 percent"
The TSG manager is expecting a well organised Nürnberg side with lots of self-confidence. “FCN have become a very stable team in the second half of the season,” said the 43-year-old. There could be problems for the visitors in defence, with Per Nilsson suspended and Timm Klose doubtful due to concussion. The Kraichgau club are remaining cautious though, after Michael Wiesinger has guided his side to 18 points in 12 games since taking over during the winter break. “We will give 110 percent to try and win,” said Gisdol.
“Small plant” growing
The Hoffenheim manager feels his team are on a good path. Training is going well and in the first two games under his leadership, Gisdol saw a “small plant growing. We have to continue along this path and take another step against Nürnberg.” The squad reshuffle during the week has good reason: “I only want to have players in our training group that have a chance of being involved on the weekend,” explained Gisdol.
The TSG manager could hardly believe it when he found out that Eugen Polanski would be suspended for three games following his red card against Leverkusen. When he got the message, he thought it was a misprint. His explanation for the long suspension was one game for the foul, one because the penalty wasn't converted and one because Polanski has been deemed as a “repeat offender”. His earlier offence came during the 2011/12 season when a foul also led to a ban. “We have accepted the decision,” said Gisdol.
