Ibertsberger to leave TSG
Andreas Ibertsberger will depart TSG 1899 Hoffenheim this summer after four and a half years. The club has decided against renewing his contract and he will be a free agent as of June 30th when his contract in Sinsheim expires.
“I've had four and a half exciting and wonderful years here. I'd like to thank the club for that, as well as everyone who has supported me. I'm happy that I was able to be a part of Hoffenheim's fantastic history. A lot has happened in the last few seasons and I can proudly say that I always gave my best for the club”, said the 29-year-old Austrian defender.
Ibertsberger signed for 1899 in January 2008 from fellow Bundesliga club SC Freiburg, during which time he played 89 games, 68 of those coming in the Bundesliga. This season he has suffered a recurring back injury, restricting him to just one league appearance.
