Boris Vukcevic in critical condition following car crash
Boris Vukcevic has been seriously injured in a car crash that happened early on Friday afternoon. The TSG 1899 Hoffenheim player's car collided roughly head-on with a lorry in unknown circumstances. The 22 year old suffered life-threatening head injuries following the impact and had to be transported to Heidelberg University Hospital via an emergency rescue helicopter.
Vukcevic was operated on immediately and is in an artificial coma. His condition is critical, with the scale of his recovery unknown. The lorry driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Hoffenheim sporting director, Andreas Müller: “This news has shocked us deeply. The team, the manager, everyone here is stunned. Our thoughts are with Boris and his family.”
