My first time: Luca Philipp
Congratulations on your Bundesliga debut, Luca. When did you find out that you were going to play?
"I found out two days before the game when Oli Baumann came out of his MRI in the morning. He told me straight away, wished me every success and said good luck."
Did your nervousness increase then?
"The evening after Oli's injury, I slowly realised that the moment I'd been working towards for so long was coming soon. It was a mix of positive tension, nervousness and anticipation. It was a new pressure situation, but the nervousness was gone after running out onto the pitch. I could only focus on myself, from then on it was a lot of fun."
Did the game make a dream come true?
"Of course, it was a big dream come true. One of the reasons I started playing football was to one day become a professional and play at the highest level. Playing my first Bundesliga game was the primary goal. The fact that it went so well for me made things even better."
How did you perceive the support within the team?
"Regardless of whether I play or not, I feel the support from everyone. But especially before the Frankfurt game, everyone talked me through it and I had the full backing of the lads."
That game wasn't an easy one for a goalkeeper. You had no chance with the two goals you conceded and were only able to make your mark a little at first. What was your experience?
"I didn't see things that way during the game, I kept a clear head and worked my way from situation to situation to keep my focus. I'm pleased that I was able to make two good saves at the end of the game. The chants from the fans were really nice, that gave me an extra boost."
