Be a donor for three-year-old Ben

Three-year-old Ben is suffering from blood cancer and urgently needs a matching stem cell donor. You can register in person on Sunday or online now and become a lifesaver. His family have organised a blood typing event at SG Kirchheim on Sunday (15/12).

Approximately 13,000 people in Germany are diagnosed with leukaemia every year. One of them is three-year-old Ben Kulik from Kirchheim. Ben loves putting on his football shirt and standing on the pitch in his football boots. Unfortunately, however, he currently has to forego his training because he received a devastating blood cancer diagnosis several weeks ago. Since then, Ben has been receiving treatment at the paediatric clinic in Heidelberg and the life of his family has changed completely from one moment to the next.

The only thing that can save Ben is a stem cell donation. Unfortunately, a matching donor has not yet been found. So please: open your mouth, have a swab taken and be a donor!

Ben's parents are organising a registration event at the SG Kirchheim youth development centre (Harbigweg 18) between 10:00 and 14:00 CET on Sunday 15 December. TSG Hoffenheim are supporting this important campaign and are calling on all their employees to take part. Support this campaign and give Ben and other sufferers the hope of a better future.

Who can help?

Anyone between the ages of 17 and 55 can register. A simple cheek swab is enough to determine whether the tissue markers of the potential donor are a match with those of a patient. The data is stored in the DKMS (German Bone Marrow Donor Registry) and can enable not only Ben, but also other leukaemia patients to receive a vital stem cell donation. The more people who are typed, the higher the chances of finding a matching donor.

Important: If you don't have time on Sunday or would like to make a donation to help finance the expensive typing process, you can also get involved online.
