TSG Hoffenheim sign Adam Hlozek

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim are pressing ahead with their squad planning and are bringing in striker Adam Hlozek. The 22-year-old Czechia international is moving to the Kraichgau from reigning German champions and cup winners Bayer 04 Leverkusen and has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with TSG.

"Adam is a young, hungry player who already has a great deal of international experience – both at club level and in the Czech national team – despite being only 22 years of age. Last season, for example, he made a high number of appearances for reigning German champions and cup winners Bayer Leverkusen," said Frank Kramer, the interim Head of Sport in Hoffenheim, who went on to add: "Adam is really strong in footballing terms, a highly agile striker who possesses both the necessary physicality as well as the technical abilities and the tactical understanding in order to be able to help our team immediately. There's also the fact that he absolutely wanted to move to Hoffenheim, because Adam sees TSG as the ideal place to take the next step in his career. These are excellent prerequisites that speak for themselves. In terms of his character, Adam is a super boy and we're all totally convinced that we will have a great deal of joy with him in the coming years."

Adam Hlozek moved from Sparta Prague to the Bundesliga to join Bayer Leverkusen in July 2022 and won the double of German Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in his second season in the Rhineland with the "Werkself". Hlozek made 52 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen (7 goals / 7 assists), played five matches in the DFB-Pokal (4 goals / 1 assist), six games in the Champions League (1 assist) and 17 matches in the Europa League (3 goals / 2 assists).

Even before his time in Leverkusen, Hlozek had made headlines for his hometown club Sparta Prague. Hlozek not only became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Czech Fortuna Liga aged 16 years, seven months and 15 days, but also finished the 2020/21 campaign as the top scorer in his country with 15 goals in 19 appearances at the age of 18. A year earlier, he also helped Sparta to bring the Czech Cup to Prague courtesy of a final victory against Slovan Liberec. In total, Hlozek made 91 appearance for Sparta in the top tier of Czech football (29 goals / 30 assists) and played in 14 matches in the cup competition (3 goals / 1 assist). In addition, he played in four Champions League qualifying matches (1 assist), six games in the Europa League (1 goal / 1 assist), one match in Europa League qualifying (1 goal) and two games in the Conference League (1 goal).

Hlozek made his debut for the Czech national team in September 2020 and has since represented his home country at senior level in 34 international matches (2 goals). The 22-year-old forward was also part of the final Czechia squad for the European Championships in Germany which have only just come to an end and regularly featured throughout the tournament. Prior to that, Hlozek progressed through all the youth ranks of the Czech national team setup from the U15s onwards and was extremely prolific in front of goal in all youth national teams.
