Pirmin Schwegler to leave TSG Hoffenheim

Bundesliga team TSG Hoffenheim and Pirmin Schwegler are parting ways. The managing board and the former director of the first team have agreed to terminate the Swiss director's contract, which was originally meant to last until 30 July 2025, effective from 6 September. Frank Kramer will take over the responsibilities of the sports directorate in the interim.

"My time at TSG Hoffenheim was very intense and I learned a lot from it. We have achieved a lot together and I wish the whole club, and of course the team, all the best for the future. Having reached the Europa League, the team will be able to perform on the international stage this season, which is exceptional for a team like TSG", says Schwegler.

"I would like to thank Pirmin that we could have such an open conversation, and we of course respect his decision. We wish Pirmin all the best in his future career, as well as in his personal life", says Dr Markus Schütz, head of the managing board.

Schwegler (37) returned to TSG in January 2023, first taking over the position of "Director of Professional Football and Football Cooperation". He then became "Director of the First Team". Between 2014 and 2017, Schwegler had put on his boots for Hoffenheim and played for TSG in 59 competitive games.

Frank Kramer will take over the responsibilities of the sports directorate in the interim. The junior director travelled to the first team's training camp in Kitzbühel on Tuesday (30.07.24).
