TSG go goal crazy in Darmstadt
Line-up
Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo did not change his starting XI compared to the 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig. Wout Weghorst and Umut Tohumcu returned to the squad.
The scenario
Following the results so far this weekend, TSG went into the match in eighth position in the table and had the chance to move up to seventh spot with a win. Darmstadt had already been condemned to relegation and last place prior to kick-off.
Moment of the match
The second minute: Not even 100 seconds had passed by the time TSG took the lead. Florian Grillitsch played in Ihlas Bebou with a wonderful pass over the defence. The striker controlled the ball perfectly, rounded Darmstadt goalkeeper Alexander Brunst between the sticks and fired home the early opener. It was the starting point for the away victory.

TSG Hoffenheim kept a clean sheet for only the second time this season. The last time they managed it was away to Union Berlin on Matchday 5 (2-0).
Record of the day
The 6-0 win was the biggest away victory in Hoffenheim's Bundesliga history. Their previous biggest margin of victory was a 5-0 at Hertha BSC in 2014/15. It also equalled the club record for the biggest-ever Bundesliga win. Hoffenheim also won 6-0 in 2018, against 1. FC Köln on that occasion.
Outlook
The final matchday of 2023/24 takes place next week. TSG Hoffenheim will have qualification for Europe in their own hands against FC Bayern Munich. Kick-off is at 15:30 CEST on Saturday.

Bebou with the perfect start
What a dream start: Bebou makes use of his tempo and latches onto a high ball over the top of the defence. The striker brings the ball down perfectly, rounds Brunst and then slots into the empty net with his left foot.
Beier doubles the lead
What’s going on here? Beier is played clean through on Brunst and slots into the net in ice-cold fashion. The linesman initially raises his flag for offside, but Beier has not ventured beyond the line. The goal stands.
Now it's three
It’s a perfect afternoon so far. Grillitsch once again plays the perfect pass, this time down the right flank. Kadeřábek controls the ball perfectly with his chest, asserts himself and fires the ball into the back of the net via the inside of the left upright.
Kabak scores from a corner
Kramarić delivers an in-swinging corner into the danger zone. Ozan Kabak rises the highest and heads the ball perfectly into the top-right corner.
Beier brace
Bebou is afforded a lot of space in midfield, is allowed to turn and plays it perfectly through for Beier, who goes clean through on Brunst and fires home right-footed off the inside of the right post. The ball rolls into the net again.
Bebou bags brace
TSG remain ruthless. Kramarić goes to control a ball into the box but then leaves it for Bebou, who dances past an opponent and then beats Brunst clinically with a shot into the right corner.
Akpoguma wide
Kramarić takes on an opponent following a corner, turns past him and crosses the ball perfectly into the middle. Akpoguma doesn’t connect properly and heads wide of the mark.
