Grischa Prömel called up to the national team
Grischa Prömel was on Monday given a late call-up by Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann for the upcoming international fixtures against Türkiye (18 November) and in Austria (21 November). The 28-year-old TSG midfielder is making his first appearance in the national team squad and could make his international debut. Grischa Prömel said the following of his call-up: "When Julian Nagelsmann called me on Sunday evening and informed me of my call-up, I was already very nervous on the telephone. Especially as I already once had a similar situation with him – back then I was still an U19 player with the Stuttgarter Kickers. On that occasion Julian first sent me a WhatsApp and then called me to convince me to transfer to the TSG Hoffenheim academy. That's also happened now, only this time it was about being called up for the Germany national team. I'm just incredibly proud and infinitely grateful to be part of it for the first time. It's an absolute honour for me, because what could be greater than being able to represent your country? It's definitely a dream come true for me. And on top of that it's for such outstanding international fixtures like the ones against Türkiye and in Austria. In any case, I'm very happy and looking forward to my time with the DFB."
Many congratulations, Grischa!
