Bruun Larsen joins Burnley on loan

"Jacob is a highly talented attacking player with an incredible amount of potential. It is regrettable that such a gifted player has only been able to show his potential to a limited extent in recent years. He has had game time here and there, but unfortunately he has not been able to constantly produce his top performance level for TSG," said TSG managing director Alexander Rosen, referring to "the injury history that has slowed Jacob down over for several weeks time and again in recent years. Following very targeted discussions, we have now come to the joint decision that a change of scenery would do Jacob some good. At Burnley, he will link up with his former coach from RSC Anderlecht, Vincent Kompany, with whom he has already worked successfully in Belgium."

Jacob Bruun Larsen moved from Borussia Dortmund to the Kraichgau in the winter transfer window of the 2019/2020 season and has so far played 50 Bundesliga games (5 goals), one match in the Europa League and six matches in the DFB-Pokal (1 goal) for TSG. Over the past few years, the Dane has repeatedly suffered injury setbacks and missed 16 competitive games in the past season alone after he underwent groin surgery. In the 2020/2021 season, Bruun Larsen was sent on loan to Belgian powerhouse RSC Anderlecht for six months, during which time he made nine appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, six matches in the Jupiler Pro League play-offs (2 goals, 2 assists) and four matches in the Belgian cup competition. Since his international debut in March 2019 for the Danish national team, Bruun Larsen has made six appearances and scored one goal.
