Outstanding second half sees TSG cruise to victory over Mainz
The scenario
After notching up three wins in a row, TSG lost 1-0 in Dortmund last weekend. André Breitenreiter's side were seventh in the table with nine points. Mainz had one point more on their tally before the match and therefore sat in fifth place.
Line-up
André Breitenreiter made one change to the starting line-up from the game in Dortmund, as Pavel Kadeřábek moved into the XI to replace Angeliño. This meant Robert Skov moved from left-back to right-back.
Number of the game: 300
It was a game to remember for goalkeeper Oliver Baumann, as he made his 300th competitive appearance for TSG.
Moment of the match
He may have missed a penalty, but Andrej Kramarić clearly didn't let it get to his head. His bicycle-kick finish in the 53rd minute sent TSG on the road to victory.
Best sliding tackle
A long ball sent Karim Onisiwo in behind the TSG backline. He drove forward and then squared the ball to Jae Sung Lee, who looked poised for an easy finish, but Dennis Geiger had sprinted back and managed to slide in at just the right moment. It was a crucial intervention, as not long afterwards TSG scored their second goal of the match.
Outlook
TSG Hoffenheim are at home once again next weekend: SC Freiburg will be the visitors at the PreZero Arena for the final fixture of Matchday 7 on Sunday (kick-off 19:30 CET).

Match highlights
First chance for Mainz
The first chance of the game falls to Mainz 05. A long ball is launched forward to Onisiwo. Skov manages to get a foot in the way, but inadvertently sends the ball to the feet of Burkardt, who has a chance to shoot on goal from 15 metres out. In the end his effort is too central to really trouble Baumann.
First big chance for TSG
Skov drills a cross in from the left, which the onrushing Prömel is able to get on the end of, but his touch isn't strong enough to direct the ball goalwards.

Kramarić just wide of the mark
Georginio dribbles his way into the box from the right and lofts the ball towards the far-post. The delivery is slightly too high for Kramarić, meaning he can't quite get his header on target.

Another chance for TSG
TSG play a corner short, which leads to Baumgartner receiving the ball in space 20 metres from goal. He pulls the trigger, but his shot takes a deflection and whizzes just over the bar.
Baumgartner heads over
Skov has acres of space in midfield and carries the ball forward before slipping a pass out to Kramaric. The Croatian sends a cross into the area towards Baumgartner, who can't quite keep his header under the bar.

Red card for Mainz, Kramarić misses from the penalty spot
Red card for Alexander Hack! Baumgartner plays in Georginio, who is brought down in the area. As Hack was the last man, the referee has no option but to reach for the red card. Kramaric steps up to take the resultant spotkick – and fires it wide of the left-hand post.

Magnificent goal from Kramarić
Georginio beats his man on the left-side of the area and chips the ball delicately across the face of goal. The ball is slightly behind Kramarić, but he improvises with a bicycle kick and finishes with aplomb. Great goal!

Prömel scores after strong link-up
That was very well played. The ball is shifted over to Kaderabek, who plays it centrally to the feet of Baumgartner. The Austrian just needs one touch to tee up the onrushing Prömel, and TSG's number six makes no mistake in finding the back of the net.

Dabbur denied by Zentner
A strong save from the Mainz goalkeeper. Rudy sends a low cross into the box after a corner, and Dabbur drills a powerful effort on target, but Zentner is able to get his hands up in time to prevent his side going 3-0 down.
Dabbur backheel makes it 3-0
Shortly after Georginio misses a chance to make it 3-0, Angelino zips the ball across the face of goal and Dabbur finishes with a backheel. Madness!

Kohr pulls one back for Mainz
Mainz aren't done just yet. Kohr has too much time and space in the box and is able to direct his shot into the corner of the net. No chance for Baumann there.
Pavel puts the icing on the cake
Georginio is fouled in midfield, but the referee plays advantage. Stiller picks the ball up and drives forward before squaring to Kadeřábek, who finishes to make it 4-1.
