"The move away from what we see as disproportionate capacity restrictions for professional sports, especially for large venues such as football stadiums, is certainly a positive sign. It is a first tentative step, but one which from our point of view must mark the start of a process that opens up additional prospects for clubs and society. We will handle it very responsibly, as we have done in the past months," said TSG managing director Frank Briel of the decision. In recent weeks, only 500 spectators have been allowed at TSG Hoffenheim's home games.
