Football & environment team up
TSG Hoffenheim has been working with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development to publish a handbook entitled "Environmental Education through and with Football".
The handbook is available for all interested parties to download here free-of-charge. You can find out about the handbook's creation and background story in the following TSG-TV feature.
In addition to the handbook, the two authors and TSG coaches Manuel Sanchez and Maximilian Roth will be teaching the contents in a practical training session. The general objective of the training is to share ideas and experiences on how children and children can be exposed to environmental education measures, and how they can be conveyed in a playful way through football and demonstrated in practice.
Depending on the development of the coronavirus pandemic and the associated rules and regulations, as well as the weather conditions, the training will be held either on site on (Friday) 30 July from 18:00 to 20:00 CET or online – but it will be accompanied by a live stream in any case.

Storm disaster: DFL & DFB set up solidarity fund
The German Football League (DFL) and the German Football Association (DFB) will set up a solidarity fund for the victims of the severe storms. In a joint statement on Friday, the two organisations said: "The images of flooding and devastation, the scale of this disaster, have left us shocked and horrified. Our thoughts are with the families of those who have died, the injured, and the many people in a desperate situation. Like after the 2013 floods, the DFL and DFB intend to make a financial contribution to the assistance for flood victims and therefore to establish a joint fund of three million euros. This will not ease the emotional pain. But we hope that, together, we can at least provide some support. We take solidarity in this crisis situation for granted.”
The DFB has additionally contacted UEFA, which has also pledged support.

Kramarić, Bebou & Baumgartner nominated by "kicker"
Huge recognition for TSG Hoffenheim: three of the club's attacking players have been named in the "German Football Ranking List" by "kicker" magazine in recognition of their performances throughout the last Bundesliga campaign. TSG's record goalscorer Andrej Kramarić, for example, was voted the fourth-best attacking player in the division and was even placed in the "International class" category. "The striker, who is as cunning as he is technically gifted, was the most important player at TSG Hoffenheim and guaranteed the club's place in the league," wrote "kicker". His fellow forward Ihlas Bebou, who occupied seventh spot, made the "National class" category. Christoph Baumgartner was also placed in that same category, and received glowing praise from "kicker". "Lively across the pitch, skilled and dangerous," wrote the magazine. Defensive players Florian Grillitsch and Pavel Kadeřábek had earlier been rated as "National class" by the publication.

Back together again: Open training sessions with fans
At 11:00 CET and 16:00 CET on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 July respectively, TSG Hoffenheim will finally be training in front of fans in Zuzenhausen again. Across the entire training premises, the supporters in attendance must observe the distancing rules in force and wear a protective face mask. In addition, it must be possible to track and trace the attendees (via the Luca app, for example). TSG is looking forward to seeing you, dear fans!
TSG to face Viktoria Cologne on 9 August
The DFB has today announced the dates and kick-off times for the first round of the 2021/22 DFB-Pokal. TSG Hoffenheim will visit Viktoria Cologne on Monday 9 August. Kick-off at Sportpark Höhenberg will be at 18:30 CET.
Kadeřábek & Grillitsch nominated by "kicker"
Two TSG Hoffenheim defenders have been rewarded for their performances throughout last season with a place in "kicker" magazine's "German Football Ranking List". Both Florian Grillitsch and Pavel Kadeřábek were placed in the "National class" category by the editorial team. Kadeřábek, who comes from Czechia, was voted the seventh-best player in the Bundesliga for the position of "Defensive wide player", while 25-year-old Grillitsch came in 10th place in defensive midfield. The nominations for the attacking positions are set to follow later in the week, with several TSG players justifiably hoping their names will be included on that list.
