Baumgartner out injured

Christoph Baumgartner will sit out the remaining two games of the season with an injury. The 21-year-old TSG Hoffenheim midfielder suffered an injury to his right ankle in training. The Austria international remains confident that he will be able to take part in the upcoming EURO.

"It is really sad that Baumi is out again so close to the end of the season. He has been a really reliable performer for the team this season," says director of football Alexander Rosen. Although Baumgartner will now have to take a break from action, "we have decided that he will stay with the team in the quarantine hotel in order to get the best possible support during his treatment.''

Baumgartner remains full of spirit: ''My goal is still to take part in the EURO. I'm going to do everything I can to represent Austria,'' says the midfielder, who has won eight caps for his country.

Baumgartner has made 41 competitive appearances for TSG this season in the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Europa League. He scored nine goals and provided seven assists. In March, he prematurely extended his contract at Hoffenheim until 30 June 2025.
