"TSG helps" supports other clubs in the region

The non-profit association "TSG helps", founded by the Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim during the Coronavirus crisis, continues to show genuine solidarity with amateur clubs in the region. The current tranche of funds from the aid fund – the sixth such tranche – will support a further 16 clubs, increasing the number of clubs supported since March 2020 to around 250. In addition to 149 football teams, numerous clubs from other sports, music societies and environmental and social projects were also supported by "TSG helps".

Equipment manufacturer Joma helps clubs

"TSG helps" has also received further support in recent weeks. The sporting goods company Joma, which has been a kit supplier of TSG Hoffenheim since 2019, is also supporting associations in the Rhine-Neckar region in the extraordinary pandemic situation, inspired by the "TSG helps" initiative. Joma decided to support clubs in need who had applied for "TSG helps" by providing an equipment kit. In total, around 50 clubs received a set of equipment and kit worth €500 each. The generous campaign by TSG's supplier Joma proves that TSG and its partners do not just talk about real solidarity with amateur clubs – it is something they live by.

There are plenty of thank you letters that show just how necessary and vital an initiative like "TSG helps" is. "On behalf of our VfB Sennfeld, our board of directors and our members, I would like to say God bless you. We are truly massively overwhelmed and grateful. You can't really put it into words," wrote VfB treasurer, Isabelle Schwarzer. "This is great news that reaches us at an important time, because our initiatives for people with disabilities are facing significant financing risks this year due to the pandemic," said Stephan Kurzenberger of the care centre for people with mental disabilities in Ludwigsburg. "Overwhelmed by this positive news, we would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts! This will really help the club. Also many thanks for the straightforward handling," said the riding and driving association Robern, thanking TSG helps for the support.

TSG fans show great solidarity

TSG Hoffenheim is committed to staying true to its guiding principle of taking on social responsibility, especially in a crisis, and to helping others. The online call was therefore followed in spring 2020 by the founding of "TSG hilft e.V." (TSG helps) and the establishment of the initiative's own website www.tsg-hilft.de, where applications for an aid payment can be accepted and processed. Even those who want to support the non-profit association with donations will find all the information they need on the homepage. The funds of the aid fund come from the salaries waived by the Bundesliga pros of TSG Hoffenheim, the coaches and physios and the club management, as well as donations from partners, the junior teams of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim from the academy and, last but not least, individuals and the many, many fans who have waived a refund for their match tickets or season tickets in favour of TSG helps.

TSG pays for quick tests for other clubs

TSG has also recently shown its solidarity with its competitors in the Regionalliga Südwest. Together with the other three licensed clubs, whose U23 teams play in the Regionalliga Südwest, Hoffenheim has created a financial aid package that benefits selected clubs in this league. The aim is to enable clubs working under semi-professional conditions to implement the antigen tests required before the matches without having to bear the costs themselves.
