TSG drawn away to FC Bayern in the last 16
Germany and SGS Essen forward Turid Knaak, who was a special guest on ARD's Sportschau programme, picked a big name out of the hat for TSG Hoffenheim in the DFB Cup: they face a tough trip to Munich to face FC Bayern in the next round. Alexander Rosen, the TSG director of football, is looking forward to returning to Munich, where Hoffenheim claimed a 2-1 victory in the Bundesliga in October. "Away to FC Bayern Munich – that's undoubtedly the toughest draw you can get. But as we did in the Bundesliga, we'll approach the challenge with courage and in the DFB Cup there's only one mission anyway: to get through! And that's exactly what our aim will be!"
Alfred Schreuder's charges qualified for the Round of 16 thanks a 2-0 away victory over MSV Duisburg. It is the first time since the 2014/15 campaign – and the eighth in total – that Hoffenheim have reached this stage.
The last-16 fixtures will be played on 4 and 5 February 2020. The exact dates and times, which are still being set by the German Football Association (DFB), will be announced via achtzehn99.de and our social media channels.
