Chinedu Obasi back in training
As the injury list continues to shorten, Obasi was the latest to return to the practise ground after six weeks on the sidelines: "Everyone was pleased to see Chinedu back in action. He got stuck in straight away and banged a few goals in too. We'll have to see during the week whether he's an option for Sunday," said assistant coach Peter Zeidler. Club captain Per Nilsson also returned to action following his troublesome knee injury: "I'm not at 100 per cent, but I was able to do the exercises without any problems," said the Swede. Meanwhile, Demba Ba still has some way to go before he returns to the training ground. The 24-year-old spent Tuesday's session in the gym with rehabilitation coach Christof Elser.
Assistant boss Peter Zeidler sees Sunday's match against SCF in a positive light: "We're expecting highly-motivated opponents full of team spirit, but we know that we can get a result with the quality in our squad." Freiburg go into the game full of confidence on the back of last week's 1-0 home success over Mainz 05, while Hoffenheim are hoping to distance themselves from the relegation zone once and for all: "We're all confident that we won't be dragged into the relegation dogfight, but obviously it would be better for us to get the points sooner rather than later," said Zeidler.
