No points for TSG eSPORTS in final fixtures of the year

-Our team had hoped to secure at least one win on Wednesday evening, but were unable to build on the strong performances from the start of the season towards the end of the calendar year. TSG fell to defeats against league-leaders Bayern Munich and newcomers SSV Ulm. With ten points, TSG eSPORTS dropped back to 13th place in the South-East Division of the VBL Club Championship and are now six points behind the top eight.

"Coming away from the double matchday without any points is a huge disappointment for us, and the current position in the table is not what we aspire to," said team manager Gordon Lesser about the latest results, adding: "We are working extremely self-critically as a team and will do everything we can to show more courage again in the new year in order to achieve our goals together. The winter break will do the whole team good to clear their heads."

No joy in the reunion with ‚Serhatinho‘

Things still looked good for TSG at the start of the double-header: Aymane ‘AYMANE’ Mokallik and Fabrice ‘whiteezz05’ Weiss showed all their class in the reunion with Serhat ‘Serhatinho’ Öztürk, who played doubles for Ulm with Niklas ‘NiklasRank’ Rank. The score was 4-0 by the break and our doubles team celebrated a 4-1 win to start the evening. Unfortunately, this was to be the only success for TSG eSPORTS on Wednesday. ‘whiteezz05’ then lost to ‘NiklasRank’ in the singles, which meant that the third match had to be decided. And this also went to the sparrows from Ulm: ‘AYMANE’ reduced the score to 2-1 (45) against his former team-mate “Serhatinho” before the break, but in the end the victory went to the Ulm team with 3-1 and with it the points.

A major challenge then awaited: our team faced Bayern, the current league leaders and the only team in the South-East Division still without a defeat. The defeat in the doubles was heavy: ‘AYMANE’ and ‘whiteezz05’ were beaten 7-1 by ‘KKORAY_’ and ‘FurkyPlayz’. Afterwards, ‘AYMANE’ could hope to equalise the team ranking after taking a 3-1 lead at the break against ‘KKORAY_’. Although the score was only 3-3 in the end, at least a point was still possible for our team. However, ‘whiteezz05’ lost 5-3 against ‘FurkyPlayz’, which unfortunately meant our second defeat of the evening.
