#TSGM05: Which run will end?

TSG Hoffenheim will play host to 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga this Saturday (15:30 CET). The men from Mainz have yet to drop a point on the road, while TSG have a flawless record on home turf. tsg-hoffenheim.de has compiled some interesting facts ahead of the match against Mainz.

Did you know that…

…TSG could set a club record?

Having won their opening two home games of the season, TSG Hoffenheim are on the verge of starting a Bundesliga campaign with three consecutive home victories for the first time ever.

…a strong home side is up against a force on the road?

Mainz have won all of their previous away matches, taking maximum points from their trips to Bochum, Augsburg and Mönchengladbach. TSG have won both home games in the current campaign, with Bochum and Augsburg also among their opponents. That means at least one run will definitely end.

…Mainz have only ever once started a season better?

Mainz have picked up 10 points in the opening five rounds and have made an identical start to the previous season. The club have only picked up more points in 2010/11 when a side including the "boy band" trio of Lewis Holtby, André Schürrle and Adam Szalai won the first seven games of the season in a row.

…TSG are tough to predict?

TSG's eight Bundesliga goals have come from seven different goalscorers, with only Bayern and Frankfurt having more different players on the scoresheet. The goals have also been spread evenly across the pitch: two goals have come from attacks down the left, two from centre-left, two from centre-right and two down the right.

…Akpoguma and Baumann are closing in on milestones?

Kevin Akpoguma has made 99 appearances in the Bundesliga – Saturday could be his 100th match. He has worn the TSG shirt for 95 of those games and also represented André Breitenreiter's Hannover 96 four times in the top flight. Oliver Baumann is on the verge of his 300th competitive game in goal for TSG, making him the second player to reach this milestone after Sebastian Rudy.
